Game-used

Also called: player-worn, event-worn

Game-used means the memorabilia in a card was actually used in a game, while player-worn or event-worn material was worn at a photoshoot or event. Game-used is more desirable.

Memorabilia cards disclose where the material came from, and the wording matters. "Game-used" means a jersey or piece was worn in an actual game. "Player-worn" or "event-worn" means it was worn briefly off the field, often at a signing or photoshoot, and most modern swatches are this type.

Manufacturers usually state that a swatch is not from any particular game unless noted, so read the back.

Why it matters: collectors pay a premium for genuine game-used material, especially when it can be tied to a specific moment, while player-worn swatches are treated as common inclusions.
