1-of-1
Also called: 1/1, one of one
A 1-of-1, written 1/1, is a card that exists in a single copy. Superfractors, printing plates, and the rarest parallels are typically 1-of-1s.
A 1-of-1 is the only one of its kind, serial numbered 1/1. The best-known examples are the superfractor (the top of the refractor ladder), the four CMYK printing plates used to make a card, and one-of-one autographs or memorabilia cards.
Because only one exists, a 1-of-1 has no direct comp, which makes pricing them more art than science.
Why it matters: scarcity is absolute, so a 1-of-1 of a major star can command a huge premium and often sells through auction, where competing bidders set the price.
