Gem Mint

Also called: PSA 10, BGS 9.5

Gem Mint is the top everyday condition grade, a PSA 10 or a BGS 9.5. It means a card is essentially flawless to the naked eye, with sharp corners and clean surfaces.

Gem Mint describes a card with near-perfect centering, crisp corners, clean edges, and a flawless surface. On the common scales it is a PSA 10 or a BGS 9.5. Above it sit rarer tiers like BGS 10 Pristine and the Black Label.

Even brand-new cards straight from a pack often grade below Gem Mint because of tiny factory flaws.

Why it matters: the jump from a 9 to a Gem Mint 10 can multiply a card's price, so Gem Mint is the grade most collectors aim for and the one that drives the strongest sales.
