Case hit

A case hit is a card so rare it averages about one per sealed case of boxes. Case hits are among the biggest pulls in a product.

Cards are packed at set odds, and a case hit is one that falls, on average, roughly once in a full case (a case holds multiple hobby boxes). It might be a marquee autograph, a rare insert, or a low-numbered parallel.

Odds are an average, not a guarantee, so a case can yield more than one or none at all.

Why it matters: case hits are the cards breakers and collectors hope for when opening product, and they often define the ceiling of what can be pulled from a release.

This glossary is a plain-language reference for collectors, not financial or purchasing advice. Card values move, so always check recent sales before you buy or sell.
